On September 29, 2016, the USAID-funded Leadership, Management, and Governance (LMG) Project organized the 4th Governance for Health Roundtable: Building a Governance Roadmap to Achieve Health Targets by 2030 in Washington, DC. This roundtable built on three previous  governance roundtable conferences that the LMG Project hosted between 2012 and 2015. Each roundtable convened governance experts, thought leaders, and practitioners to share experiences and explore strategies to improve health system governance in low- and middle-income countries.

The fourth roundtable discussed how governance can accelerate progress toward three global health priorities:

  • Achieving an AIDS-Free generation
  • Ending preventable child and maternal deaths
  • Ensuring universal access to sexual and reproductive health services

In particular, discussions built on the deliberations at previous roundtable conferences with the aim to lay a foundation for a governance roadmap to 2030.

This report summarizes the deliberations from the three thematic sessions of the fourth roundtable, and it distills key lessons from the entire conference.
