By Liz McLean is a learning and social networking website that hosts a global community of those who lead, manage, and govern in the health sector of low and middle-income countries. In April 2014, the lead partner on the LMG Project, MSH, launched a new website in order to enhance the social networking and online learning experience of its members.

If you were a member of, join the new website: enhances peer-to-peer collaboration through the use of customized profiles, social media and personalized interactions. As a member, you will enjoy the new features of the website including threaded conversations, the ability to “like” others’ posts, and the ability to explore the profiles of and connect with more than 1,500 people actively participating on These members have had the opportunity to participate in online seminars, facilitated and self-paced courses, and communities of interest. In the coming months, you can expect to see even more as we grow our communities of practice and blogs related to leadership, management, and governance in health. 

When you first join, you can take a short self-paced course: 1) Leading, managing and Governing for Health and 2) Effective Coaching. To date, 192 people have taken the Leading, Managing and Governing for Health course and 187 people have taken the Effective Coaching course. Today, LeaderNet is made up of participants and graduates of MSH’s face-to-face Leadership Development Programs (LDP, LDP+), Senior Leadership Program (SLP), Virtual Leadership Development Program (VLDP), and leaders working in global health from around the world who wish to strengthen their capacity in leadership, management and governance. We encourage you to join so you can learn of upcoming programs, communities of practice, and seminars that will help you develop your leadership, management and governance capacity.
