Dorothy Kiburi

Deputy Director, Finance and Administration

Ms. Kiburi is an accomplished project administrator with more than 15 years of experience in project operations and financial management for USAID-funded contracts and cooperative agreements. Prior to joining Management Sciences for Health (MSH) as the Deputy Director of Finance and Administration for the Leadership, Management, and Governance (LMG) Project, Dorothy worked at PATH as the Finance and Operations Team Lead for the MalariaCare project, funded by USAID under the US President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI), with the goal of scaling up high-quality diagnosis and treatment services for malaria and other febrile (fever causing) illnesses. Her experience includes monitoring budgets and implementing creative and effective procedures to improve efficacy, financial management, and project operations from start up to close out; donor compliance; capacity building and mentoring field staff; management and negotiation of subcontracts; and maintaining cost controls in high-paced, diverse environments. Ms. Kiburi has country experience in Cambodia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, India, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Ukraine, Vietnam, and Zambia. Ms. Kiburi has a bachelor of commerce in business administration from the University of Rajasthan, India, and a diploma in NGO management from the Kenya Institute of Management.
