Senior Technical Advisor for Public Sector Governance

Mahesh Shukla is the Public Sector Governance Senior Technical Advisor for the LMG Project. He is a public health physician, health policy professional, and a leading expert on governance and health with proficiency in health systems strengthening and reform. Dr. Shukla has 20+ years of experience in health and governance in public sector of leading complex health and development interventions and programs at the national, state, and local levels in capacity constrained and fragile environments. He has worked with UNDP and the World Bank, and has provided policy advice to national governments. 

Dr. Shukla possesses advanced policy analysis and capacity development skills. He is trained in qualitative and quantitative research methods especially in handling and analyzing large data sets. He manages change effectively and has reputation for integrity, responsibility, hard work, and commitment.

Dr. Shukla has earned his MD in internal medicine from Nagpur University in India, DrPH in Health Policy from the George Washington University, and MPA from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs which is a premier public administration school in the United States.
