In Pakistan the LMG Project actively supports Ponseti International Association (PIA) in using the Public Health Model to provide technical assistance to clubfoot treatment programs in Pakistan. PIA is currently working in three focus countries—Peru, Pakistan, and Nigeria, to strengthen national programs and institutionalize the Ponseti treatment method for clubfoot. The goal is to significantly increase access to clubfoot treatment for an additional 2,400 children by the end of the two-year project period. Future access to treatment in these countries will continue to expand through national programs on the foundation of quality of delivery of the Ponseti method at each location in each country; local ownership of the Ponseti treatment process and clinical services in each country; and sustainability of the delivery of the Ponseti method within the country’s health system.
