Karen Johnson Lassner


Karen Johnson Lassner is currently Technical Advisor, Governance and Leadership, for the LMG Project. In that capacity, she builds the leadership, management, and governance capacity of organizations to advocate and deliver services. Ms. Lassner’s technical areas of expertise include primary health care, reproductive health, HIV, tuberculosis, and disability. Her specific skills include leading and managing organizational change, governance strengthening of civil society organizations and multi-sector bodies, strategic and operational planning, leadership development, management needs assessments, and monitoring and evaluation. She is also a seasoned face-to-face and virtual facilitator and trainer. Within the LMG Project, she provides technical assistance to the Women´s Institute on Leadership and Disability (WILD), implemented by Mobility International USA, and also coordinates project work related to the Global Fund. Fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese, she has 35+ years of experience in Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa and Asia, including as the MSH Rep in Brazil. Ms. Johnson Lassner holds MA/MPH degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a BA degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
