Since November 2011, Guinea has been a PMI country, benefitting from support to the national malaria response. Guinea experiences year-round
malaria transmission, with peak transmission from July through October in most areas. According to the National Malaria Control Strategy, malaria remains the number one public health problem in the country.

With support from the President’s Malaria Initiative, the USAID-funded Leadership, Management, and Governance National Malaria Control Program Capacity Building (LMG/NMCP) Project, partnered with the Guinea NMCP to improve coordinated national efforts in the fight against malaria.

This fact sheet details some of the LMG/NMCP Project’s key accomplishments in Guinea.
