How the LDP+ Contributes to Behavior Change and Improved Service Delivery

Despite the transition into the Sustainable Development Goals era, developing countries continue to face significant challenges to provide basic health services for all. However, inspired leadership, sound management, and transparent governance can catalyze investments in health for improved service delivery.

This technical report presents the USAID-funded Leadership, Management, and Governance (LMG) Project’s approach to leadership development, and highlights three recent Leadership Development Program Plus (LDP+) implementations that contributed to service delivery improvements, behavior change, and scale up.

This report demonstrates that health workers can learn how to lead and manage to improve service delivery, and that scaling up the LDP+ can impact health indicators at the district, provincial, and national levels.
